The aim of integration training is to help you reach independent language proficiency (B1) and prepare for working life. Integration training lasts about one year and it includes language and work practice.
Taitotalo offers Basic pathway courses and Fast-track courses for participants with higher education. You cannot apply for integration training by yourself. You must first register as a jobseeker at your local employment services.

Taitotalo’s integration training takes place either at Valimotie or Strömberginkuja in Helsinki. Check the address in your invitation letter.

Inform your employment services officer and the course teacher.
Bring your own pen and notebook. You will receive a textbook on loan from the school. The teacher will give more information at the beginning of the course.
The teacher will explain the schedule and course contents when classes begin. Later, when you receive your student credentials, you can check the schedule yourself.
You must always inform the course teacher about any absences.
Unfortunately, students in integration training do not receive the HSL student discount.
No, in Integration Training you study Finnish and learn about Finnish society and working life. You also receive guidance and support for planning your career path.
There is a Christmas break in December and a 4-week summer holiday in July.
A study day is 7 hours, including lessons with the teacher in class and homework. You may have online study days and study visits to different places. The course may be in the morning or in the afternoon.
There is a café and a student restaurant at Taitotalo. There are also break rooms for students where you can store and eat your own food. There is also a quiet room at the school.
Childcare must be arranged by yourself elsewhere before starting classes.
The Integration Training is divided into three levels or modules. Typically, module 1 starts at language level 0, module 2 starts at language level A1.3 on the basic pathway and at A2.1 on the fast track. Module 3 starts at language level A2.1 on the basic pathway and at A2.2 on the fast track. The target level at the end of module 3 is B1.1.
You should discuss this with your teacher.
You will receive feedback on your progress during the course. Your language skills will be tested during the course.
Yes, module 2 includes a three-week language practice. Module 3 includes a six-week work practice. You will be at the workplace for 7–8 hours a day.
Yes, Taitotalo offers various vocational training courses. You can explore different professions during integration training.

Taitotalossa voit lisätä osaamistasi lyhytkoulutuksilla, eli muutaman päivän kestävillä kursseilla ja seminanaareilla tai suorittamalla ammatillisen tutkinnon tai osatutkinnon.
