Are you interested in developing your skills in the cleaning and property services sector or entering work life in the cleaning sector?
The Further Vocational Qualification in Cleaning and Property Services is designed to give you competence and assurance to plan and implement cleaning services in different customer sites.
You may be looking to be employed in cleaning sector, or perhaps apprenticeship training is not possible for you. This training will make you a professional in cleaning services.
Who is the vocational qualification suitable for?
This Qualification is for you, if apprenticeship training is not available for you or you wish to be employed in the cleaning sector and your main language for communication is English.
You also have to be able to have the opportunity to participate in work practice at work sites.
The training has continuous admission. The first training programme starts on 27th of October 2026. Applications must be submitted no later than 27th of September 2026.
You can attend either one unit and have assurance to your work in daily cleaning assignments, or you can complete the whole vocational qualification.
The qualification (150 Competence points) is composed of one compulsory unit.
- Provision of customer-oriented cleaning and property services, 15 cp
One optional unit in the competence area.
- Maintenance cleaning services, 45 cp
and optional units of which you choose a total of 90 competence points.
- Basic cleaning services, 30 cp
- Cleaning services for food industry establishments, 30 cp
- Cleaning services for educational institutions and day-care centers, 30 cp
- Cleaning services for shopping centers and retail stores, 30 cp
- Cleaning services for hotel and accommodation facilities, 30 cp
- Work induction, 30 cp
- Working as a workplace instructor, 30 cp
- Cleaning services for swimming pool and spa facilities, 30 cp
- Waste management services, 30 cp
Completion of the vocational qualification
Duration of the training is from 6 months to 12 months, depending on the individual study plan made with the trainer.
The education will take place at Strömberginkuja 3 campus site on weekdays from 9.00-15.30. The training will also include self-studying, group tasks, and online studying. More accurate plan for lessons will be provided at the beginning of the training.
Education also supports the development of Your Finnish language skills.
Competence demonstrations are conducted at your work practice place during daily assignments. The demonstration is assessed based on how well you carry out given tasks. Trainer and workplace representative make the assessments together.
Tuition Fees for Citizens from Outside the EU and EEA
According to the Act on Vocational Education and Training, tuition fees as of 1 August 2026 apply to students from outside the EU and EEA who begin vocational education and training.
Students who have first arrived in Finland on a student residence permit are required to pay a tuition fee in vocational education and training.
The tuition fee also applies to adults who come to Finland on the basis of family ties if their sponsor’s residence permit, or first residence permit, has been issued on the basis of studies.
The student must pay the tuition fee until they are issued a permanent residence permit in Finland.
The tuition fee for this qualification is 9,000€ per academic year.
The duration of studies is determined based on the student’s personal competence development plan, which should be considered when estimating the total cost of studies. Form of training
The training will be provided as voluntary education. You need to be able to attend lessons at the educational institution and participate in workplace training.
